Happy day 2008 04 12

A glimpse of the arctic Finnish spring to you...
Today was the day of the first flowers to come up - the first two butterflies on the storage house wall... the first hours spent gardening... the first cups of tea in the garden... such a great day with so much happiness when it felt spring and you could believe that it will be summer again... sometimes in the future - and even here in the arctic...
A few photos for you:
1. Galanthus nivalis - lumikello (snow bell) in our odd language - the first flower to come up in the spring from the cold earth - sometimes even from under the snow. It flowers when everything else is still resting, or dead. And it is so heartbreakingly modest, and beautiful!
2. I made this perennial flower bed in New Year's Eve (!) together with Magdalena. Now the first bulbs are coming up - and even those old ones from the former bed seem to feel warm enough to rise their heads (left, outside the bed).
3. Part of the winter the garden table was stored in the storage house under the roof but the weather takes its share... I enjoyed having tea in the garden today though - I even enjoyed watching the table, mistreated by the arctic weather - that is the way it should be too and somehow to me it looks beautiful at this time of the year, the first spring day you can have tea in the garden... providing you wear winter coat and gloves and have a warm seat cover and woolen socks... :D
Please take care of yourself! Good luck with your projects! Keep your feet warm and dry!

New blog
I have started a new blog
agathanreseptit.blogspot.com
where I store my baking and cooking recipes. They are so far in Finnish but I will be working on the translation later. It is supposed to work as storage for those recipes. Most of them are written on pieces of paper, or torn from a magazine or packing, so it is good to get them in a neat form to display.
I have tried all the recipes and if not, I say so too, so they should be safe to try to anyone. Anyway, trying is completely on everyone's own responsibility!
There I have added also links to articles that I have read and found interesting.

New in my blog: My bookshelf
I have added a new widget in my blog. It is from a commercial service producer but if you leave the commercial part out it might be quite fun. Adding this widget did not work in MSN Live Spaces (of course) but I had no problems getting it work here (Google Blogger). In case you sign up for Shelfari yourself, or are already there, can you please add me to your friends so we can keep each other informed and inspired of what we are and have been reading. To Live Space readers' knowledge: the www-address of Shelfari is www.shelfari.com. The name of my Google Blogger is Fenno Space Duplicate and it is published by me: fennougri@gmail.com - you are welcome! Let me know if you are interested so I can invite you!
