School's out!

The schools are out for 2 1/2 months from today on. There has been lots of emotions in the air when kids have been excited about their reports... which were good, one was excellent. Now the older girl wants to study Japanese in summer courses. The younger one had English and swimming. Son has nothing so far.

Comment: why this article hit me was because the wife had fibromyalgia, and the husband thinks it is at least one of the reasons why she died. Pain in kitself can cause death if it is severe enough. ANd this pain can be severee, I know. On the other hand, she was on medication, and the drugs used in this condition are death-causing too. There are warnings at least in some labels. Plus, that treatment with pain killers makes that you can be killed by side effects too.

This makes me think...

Cleaning

I have been doing a hard work. I have been cleaning and organizing in my son's room for three days. I think he had never put away anything. Now we have been organizing things so he knows where his things are, and we have been putting away more than 10 bags of garbage, and we have been sorting away three huge piles of books that he did not want anymore... and the place lookas great now. He has his things there, his closet includes only clothes that fit and that he actually uses. Everything else has gone to trash or charity. His book shelf has only those books he likes, and half of it is filled with his car magazines. All rubbish is gone. Woow! It has been a hard work but it is done! His sisters, who are younger than he is, have been able to choose from all those books he has put away - three huge piles - everything that they like. They are jubilating, they have found lots and lots that they like to keep. Rest goes to charity. I'd never have imagined I'd voluntarily put books away but things happen... he is not so keen on books, not specially a book collector like I am, and he does not need to be. His room now looks more like himself. I love it like that.

Now there will not be any cleaning for me tomorrow, or I'll not be in shape for the work on Monday. Fibromyalgia always hits back, and tomorrow will be really painful.

It has been worth it, definitely. A pity we did not take those before - after -photos. The change would have been amazing!

My late brother Jussi visited us some time 1994 - 1995 when we had bought our house. Here with his godson, our son, who did not yet have spectacles.

Love between friends?

Heard something recently which has a seed of truth in it: that it is often thought that loving your sweetheart is the best thing there is. But that actually love between true friends is something really special and not to be overcome at any level. I am thinking about that.

Mothers Day

I have had a marvellous Mothers Day. Magdalena made breakfast to me and I got it served to bed... so lovely... then I was asked to come downstairs, and she had decorated the dining room and living room with balloons and serpentine and made a rose... there was a rose from my husband too, and a card with a lovely text... and wooow... he gave me pink garden tools too, just those ones which I had wished for! I have even been using them already. What is so lovely about those pink tools is that they are part of the pink ribbon campaign which is aimed to help female cancer patients; means that part of the income from the trade goes to cancer associations and such.

It has been wonderful weather, sun shining from a cloudless sky and brisk wind - I still had a winter coat when working in the garden but at least I did not freeze.

There is an excess of rice porridge now due to Magdalena's misinterpreting of the recipe. I think I will try to make pancake the Aladia way of it - I have never tried but neither had Magdalena never tried to make rice porridge and it went all well except that lots of the milk boiled over and the amount she was making was for four persons and not for one as was her intention. But if we get pancake - it was not bad at all. And I have already cleared the mess. It was not even difficult since she had reacted so quickly that nothing got spoiled and nothing got burned either.

Äitienpäivä MOtghers Day

Got a Mothers Day card from the family. It says, Mothers Day is for all the mothers in the world. This card is for the best of them all.

Lovely.
